Our Promise

Quality, Swedish craftsmanship & fewer intermediaries

Why does the same quality cost less with us?

Why does a ring cost so much? When you compare prices of engagement and wedding rings, you quickly notice that the price of a ring with the same metal, diamond quality, and certificate can differ by tens of thousands of SEK.

At Coliène, we want to be transparent about why. Quality doesn't have to mean high prices. It's about margins, business models, and where in the chain the money actually ends up. Here, we explain how we can offer some of the market's most affordable engagement and wedding rings without compromising on craftsmanship, materials, or ethics.

It's not the ring that's expensive – it's the journey

In the traditional jewelry industry, a ring passes through many hands before it reaches you. Raw material supplier, wholesaler, brand, distributor, retail chain, and finally the boutique on the high street. Each link adds its margin, and ultimately, you as the end consumer pay every margin.

When we looked at how prices are set, we realized that the cost of materials is rarely what makes a ring expensive. It's the surrounding infrastructure – lease agreements, inventory holding, intermediaries, and markups built up over a long time. We decided to build Coliène without those layers.

This is how we make it possible

Recycled materials

All the gold we use is recycled – certified to the same purity as newly mined gold. We offer both natural and lab-grown diamonds, all conflict-free and certified. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and optically identical to natural ones, but cost significantly less to produce – a difference we pass on to you in the price.

Digital first

A retail space in a prime location costs millions per year – and ultimately, that cost lands on the customer. Instead, we invest in a smooth web experience, in services like Try at Home and free size measurements, and in personal advice. You get the same guidance, without paying for an address you might only visit once in your life.

Swedish manufacturing

We have built close relationships with experienced goldsmiths in Sweden. This means we don't need to go through wholesalers or agents – we work directly with those who actually make the ring you receive. Every intermediary we eliminate is a margin that no longer burdens the final price.

Focus on rings

Unlike broad jewelry chains, we do not sell watches, or have a large assortment of necklaces, earrings, or tennis bracelets. We focus entirely on engagement and wedding rings. A focused assortment means that we can dedicate all our expertise, all our purchasing efforts, and all our logistics to one product category.

What you actually pay for

When we talk about affordability, we don't mean that something has been stripped down. On the contrary. The price always includes:

• Recycled 18k, 14k or 9k Gold and White Gold
• Certified diamonds - Natural or lab-grown
• Free engraving on the inside
• Free resizing
• Rhodium plating - Standard on all white gold
• Personal consultation

Our rings start around 2,500 SEK and move up through the premium segment.

Affordable doesn't mean cheap

We use the word "value for money" with care. "Cheap" often suggests that something has been compromised – materials, craftsmanship, service, or ethics. None of that applies here. The difference isn't what's included, but what no longer needs to be spent.

What we've removed isn't quality. It's the unnecessary layers. And we want to be completely open about that difference – for us, transparency is part of the product itself.
